This Is A Late Post.

Hello again! How are you? I hope your day has been fine. I am currently watching the Korean drama series, <insert name here>. Every episode gets more and more exciting! :-)

Let's talk about Korean and Japanese drama serials. In my opinion, Korean and Japanese drama serials are witty and their excellent storyline entices more audiences to watch their show. They always manage to add comedy in their storylines and that's the reason why many people (including me) watch them. Whenever I watch Korean or Japanese shows, I would look forward to it and try to relate it to my life. Sometimes the message given by the shows encourage and motivate me to work hard and don't give up.

I guess this is the work of the creditable film-makers and script-writers! I think being a script-writer is fun. (That's actually one of my job scopes.)

Here's a short list on some of the Korean and Japanese shows I've watched on television before; (I tune in to Channel U, Channel 8, Channel 5 or OkTo. Do take in mind that these are based in Singapore!)
1. The After-Dinner Mysteries (Japanese)
This show is full of mysteries and keeps its audience in suspense. Personally, I like the witty comments and comebacks of the butler who works for the investigator, who is actually a daughter of a rich company.

2. 笑吧,东海!(Korean)
This show is about life's ups and downs and I think it's great for watching during the school holidays as there are many great things to learn from this show which you can apply to your daily life.

If given a chance, would you be an actor/actress? Why/Why not? And what role would you choose to play?

Here's what I notice about the characters in regular Korean and Japanese drama serials;
1. They are either selfish, arrogant, proud, rude, stuck-up; or kind, caring, willing to work for others even though they are having a hard time; and some characters fall in love and have a weird relationship (old lady & young man). But that's what make the shows exciting.

2. We can relate them to our real-life situations and have a good laugh.

I'm really sorry for posting only now. I'm trying to finish up all of my school holiday homework within 2 weeks of the school holidays so that I would have more time for myself to enjoy and blog! :-) Time management during the school holidays is most important!

OK! Now it's time for this post's question! *imaginary drum roll*

( ̄^ ̄)ゞ Are there any Korean, Japanese, English or Chinese shows you watch? What can you learn from them?

Thank you for viewing and sorry for the late post! xP
Please comment your answers to my question above, if you'd like! ;-) I look forward to your replies! And, as always, I might pick your comment to be featured in my latest post! :-)

See you soon, and don't forget to shineIn my next post I'll be discussing about self-esteem. It's going to be a loooooong post! Stay tuned!

Love,

23 October 2013, Wednesday

Wow! I can't believe today's the start of my 2-month long school holidays! :)
It's earlier than expected for us secondary school students (in Singapore) because the GCE O-Levels were pushed forward for the secondary 4 students so that they would obtain their results after the exams during the holidays promptly and enter their tertiary educational institute as early as possible.

*counts fingers*
3 more years to O-Levels for me! Personally, I'm good at language but not mathematics, science or geography. That is why I am catching up on reading during the school holidays for a fresh start next year. I guess blogging helps me relieve stress...

Here are some of my study tips!
1. Revise your school books every day after school so that you don't forget what was taught during school.

2. Only go out with friends after you have studied. Do not sacrifice your studying time for going out with friends! Work hard then play hard.

3. In between studying time, do take short breaks/rests or watch the scenery (it helps for me!) so that your eyes will not get tired.

4. Remember to always have a cup of water or your water bottle by your side! We don't want you to get dehydrated from studying! Oh , and maybe place some sweets so that you don't fall asleep! Studying in a comfortable environment works best! Remember, studying should be fun!

5. Put all electronical devices away.
Now, I know that some (OK, maybe most) of you are addicted to your phone and can't put it away; but for the sake of your studies, please put your devices in another room. Don't get distracted by the loud notifications! Please set your phone to silent mode, or turn it off. When friends text you, ignore it. Only reply after studying. Please remember to text your family members where you are! These days, I see secondary school students SMOKING while STUDYING WITH INAPPROPRIATE PEOPLE. This is WRONG!!!
How can you study with “friends” who don't care about your health and well-being at all?! Quit smoking immediately and study with platonic friends who care about you, rather than your appearance. Don't be self-conscious when you hang out with the right people. There's nothing to be afraid!

6. Personally, I use small cue cards (size: 1/4 of an A4 paper) to help me study. Use LOTS OF COLOURS!!! It's been proven that students study well when they see lots of colours, instead of a whole chunk of words. I actually adapted this method of studying from a YouTube video. I write down questions on one side and the answers on the other side of each card.
How I study with cue cards:
1) Write down the question on one side of the card
2) Research and write down the answer on the other side of the card
3) When you are studying, look at the questions and speak out the answers. It's best to have a Study Buddy with you to help you revise. However, do take in mind that you are studying, not hanging out.

7. Find the right time and place to study. Since it's the holidays now, the best places to study are:
1) At home :)
2) At the library
3) At the study room(s) available at community centres (there's one in Tampines)
4) At your friend's house (please make sure it's tranquil and safe! Again, remember to inform your family about your location.)

8. Pass these study tips on to your friends, family members or anyone else! Who knows , these tips might help them in their studies or make their study life better! :)

Last but not least, feel free to comment or shoot me an email at write2eve@ gmail.com about how you study and why you think it's effective for you. Your suggestion might appear in this post! :)

Thank you for viewing today's post. Happy studying! :D

Love,
Eve
